Job Description
Job Responsibilities
Reports to : Senior Merchandiser
Department : Merchandising.
The merchandiser job is to communicate with concerned parties in terms of
• Price quotations.
• Samples development.
• Getting approvals.
• Time and action.
• Procurement.
• Production Control.
• Delivery Control.
Price quotations – in light of technical specifications – the merchandiser should be able to calculate and quote prices based on the following inputs:
o Material consumption (from technical department)
o Technical details (GSM, Design, Accessories..etc)
o Cost of material (from accounting department or suppliers)
o Cost per minute (from cost accounting)
Technical development :
The merchandiser should follow up the progress in technical preparation for each order including:
o Pattern preparation status (with technical department)
o Fabric development status (with technical department)
o Finishing developments status (with technical department)
Time and action
The merchandiser coordinates with planning manager to secure delivery, and to implement the time and action plan approved from the customer.
Samples preparation
The merchandiser should follow up samples preparation in coordination with the technical department, in other words the merchandiser will do the following.
o Place the samples request (counter, fit, size sets, Top, PP, or shipping samples)
o Specify and negotiate the targeted delivery date for samples.
o Forward the samples to the buyer
o Follow up with the customer for feedback, approval, comments.
o Distribute the approved samples to concerned parties for mass production.
Material approvals:
The merchandiser should secure approvals for:
o Fabric development/s
o Lab dip/s
o Accessories and trims
o Finishing

Performance evaluation
The Accounts manager is responsible to fill in the appraisal from for each merchandiser every month to be compensated every three months. (March, June, September & December)
The appraisal from will be distributed shortly however it is built around the following evaluation criteria's.
a. Order completion (for assigned orders)
b. Target achievement (for assigned orders)
c. Communication and quick response to the customer (regarding assigned orders)
d. Order follow up capabilities (for assigned orders)
e. Unexpected A/F (for assigned orders)
f. Delivery delays (for assigned orders)
g. The fulfillment of the T&A (for assigned orders)
h. Customer complaints.
