Job Description
1. Responds to customer inquiries and service requests; provides information and technical support regarding computer hardware, software applications, and peripherals to customers.
2. Diagnoses and resolves customer problems pertaining to computer hardware, peripherals, and software applications based on the company standard computing technologies.
3. Documents customer inquiries and problem resolutions in a daily report to accurately track service requests.
4. Performs first level administration for network resources, diagnoses and resolves network connectivity issues for workstations and printers, or coordinates with the appropriate division for resolution.
5. Coordinates with outside vendors to ensure timely and accurate repair of computing equipment and peripherals.
6. Sets-up, installs, and configures computer hardware, software applications and laptops.
7. Diagnoses and resolves software issues, or determines an appropriate resolution path within the Department of Information Technology.
8. Performs quality assurance testing for new and upgraded versions of the company standard software suite.

Job Skills
• Good knowledge of the characteristics, capabilities, and limitations of personal computers and related peripheral equipment; principles and implementation of networks and associated protocols; desktop operating system functionality and configuration; troubleshooting techniques for computer hardware, peripherals, software, and network connectivity.
• Ability to analyze and define problem sources and conceptualize practical solutions based on the computing environment; ability to prioritize a series of requests based on dynamic factors; communicate effectively in both oral and written form; create and maintain on-line records for services provided; make sound, independent decisions within approved guidelines; establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work; clearly and concisely communicate step-by-step directions to customers; diagnose computing issues for hardware, software, and peripherals.
• Skill to safely operate tools associated with installing and maintaining personal computers.
